Jon is the owner and principal of Jon Dunning Ltd. He is a dynamic and versatile human-centred designer, workshop facilitator, leadership trainer and coach. Jon has extensive private and public sector experience in operational delivery, organisational change, personal performance and team development in Europe, USA, Australasia and the Far East. His energetic and engaging style helps create participant buy-in, improve organisational performance and optimise customer-centricity through engaging team development, innovative design thinking and effective change management.
Prior to consulting, Jon’s roles included: Escalation Manager for Global One telecommunications, Regional Head of Customer Technical Services for Orange Business plc in Europe , and Operations Manager of a JRA award-winning customer service operation in Auckland.
As a Human Centred Designer, Jon has worked on customer engagement and online booking for Regional Parks, improving the customer experience in NZ’s largest group of leisure centres and rationalising Local Board work planning in Auckland.
As an evangelist for Design Thinking for everyone, Jon has workshopped and coached Design Thinking in environments as diverse as intellectual disability services, glasshouse horticulture, offshore fishing and the NZ Police.
Jon has coached personal and professional development extensively in a wide variety of environments. As a group coach, he works with teams to improve their people dynamics, enhance communication and achieve greater alignment – including pre-parole life coaching for incarcerated women at the Auckland Region Women’s Corrections Facility.
Away from work, Jon lives on a smallholding, reading, writing and enjoying red wine & good films as often as he possibly can.
