Health and Safety FAQ’s

Your safety and the safety of the IMNZ team is our top priority, along with delivering a great learning experience.  We are working directly with our venues and have implemented the Ministry of Health’s guidelines on best practice health and safety procedures under level 1.

The IMNZ Alert Level 1 Health and Safety Plan can be found here.

Questions and Answers

What procedures will you have in place for courses under alert level 1?
We will continue to maintain contact tracing and good hygiene measures.  While social distancing is no longer required, keeping a reasonable distance from strangers is recommended.  Our venues will have plenty of space for learners to spread out if they feel they need to.  Our catering services will also go back to normal as individual servings are no longer required.

I’m not feeling well today, should I still come to the course?

If you are feeling unwell or showing potential symptoms of COVID-19 such as having a temperature and shortness of breath, please remain at home.

We have updated our booking policy so that in these circumstances you can request a credit and postpone your training.  All you need to do is notify us in writing via enquiries@imnz.net.nz that you would like to postpone as a result of COVID-19, and then book yourself in for training within the next six months.  Your credit note will be applied to this new booking.

Can you assure us of the safety of your venues?

The venues we work with have robust health and safety plans in place in relation to Covid-19 and these adhere to the health and safety rules provided by the government for operating under level 1.

If you still feel uncomfortable attending a workshop let us know that you’d like to postpone your booking and we will provide you with a credit that allows you to rebook your training within six months from the cancellation date.  All you need to do is notify us in writing via enquiries@imnz.net.nz that you would like to postpone as a result of COVID-19, and then book yourself in for training at a later date.

I’d like to swap from an in-person course to an online course, is this possible?

Yes, it is. We have updated our booking policy so that in these circumstances you can request a credit and you can apply this to an online workshop free of any additional booking charges.  Please contact IMNZ to arrange this.

Will you tell us if someone in this class gets COVID-19 and we might have been exposed?

In the event that one of our learners or one of the IMNZ facilitators tests positive for COVID-19, we will immediately follow the government’s guidelines around the risk of potential infection, and ensure the right people are kept informed.

What will happen with the materials normally provided during your in-person course?

IMNZ no longer provides hard copy handouts during our workshops.  Our participants will need to bring their own device to the workshop, along with pen and paper.  If this might cause a problem for you please reach out to the IMNZ team.  We will communicate directly with participants what they need to bring prior to each workshop.

Do I need to wear a face mask?

It is entirely possible to maintain appropriate social distancing while on a public IMNZ course.  Wearing of masks is not mandatory, it is at your discretion to wear a face mask when attending.
